One Amazing Girl
This site is dedicated to my beloved dog breed - the Borzoi.
And a borzoi girl named FUJARKA STEPOWY GONIEC (Borscana Besteven x Zula Stepowy Goniec), her adventures at the show scene. Both here, at home in Norway and abroad.
Who we share our lives with, and enjoy every day. She is ment to be our start in the breeding. One that we take very seriously; through research, health testing and showing. A way for us to preserve this wonderful breed for the future. And a legacy trough her descendants.
The Borzoi (/ˈbɔːrzɔɪ/, literally "fast"), also called the Russian wolfhound (Russian: Ру́сская псовая борзая). Descended from dogs brought to Russia from central Asian countries, it is similar in shape to a greyhound, and is also a member of the sighthound family.
My name is Katarzyna (Katja) R. Eggers, and am the lucky owner of Fujarka. I am a graphic designer, by profession. And live with my husband south of Bergen, on an island called Tysnes.
We have a farm called Rolse Gaard, forest and a lot of land for us to enjoy, and for the dogs to explore.
My dogshow interest started with a Dalmatian I was dog walking. When I was 15 years old. She became my first champion. I have been showing dogs in Norway since 1988.
My first Borzoi was a rescue, he was just a pet. But what a fenomenal one! I was smitten, and in love. His friendship, calmness and beauty was one of a kind. And I never forgot him, that was in 1989.
It would go over 20 years, before I acquired my second Borzoi.
He came with his breeder to Bergen, one rainy day in 2012.
And it was love at first sight! He was so tender and shy, but he could smile - and that was most important for me.
His name was Vostok av Fjascho (Bo). He became a junior speciality winner (2012) and has been top ten listed in the breed, both in 2012 and 2013. And he smiled every day of his life!
Such a joyful spirit, he was. Bo sadly passed away in August 2019. Having fun and enjoying his last walk... We miss him dearly.
