One Amazing Girl
This is a site dedicated to my beloved Borzoi girl - FUJARKA STEPOWY GONIEC, her breed, and her adventures at the show scene. Both here, at home in Norway and abroad. She was born in Poland, on the 30th of June 2016 at the prestigious Stepowy Goniec kennel, in a litter of 12. Sired by RU CH RU GCH Borscana Besteven, under PL CH Zula Stepowy Goniec.
The Borzoi (/ˈbɔːrzɔɪ/, literally "fast"), also called the Russian wolfhound (Russian: Ру́сская псовая борзая). Descended from dogs brought to Russia from central Asian countries, it is similar in shape to a greyhound, and is also a member of the sighthound family.
My name is Katarzyna W. Rolse, and I am the lucky owner of Fujarka. I have been showing dogs in Norway since 1988. I am a graphic designer, by profession. And live with my partner south of Bergen, on an island called Tysnes. We have a farm, forest and a lot of land for us to enjoy, and for the dogs to explore.
My show interest started with a Dalmatian I was dog-walking. When I was 15 years old. She became my first champion.
My first Borzoi was a rescue from the Norwegian Le Sphinx kennel, he was just a pet. But what a fenomenal one!
I was smitten, and in love. His friendship, calmness and beauty was one of a kind. And I never forgot him.
It would go over 20 years, before I acquired my second Borzoi.
He came with his breeder Bjarte Lien to Bergen, one rainy day in 2012. And it was love at first sight! He was so tender and shy, but he could smile - and that was most important for me...
His name is NO CH Vostok av Fjascho (Bo). He is a junior speciality winner (2012) and has been top ten listed in the breed, both in 2012 and 2013. And he still smiles - every day!
I am a member of FCI, Norwegian Kennel Club (NKK), Norwegian Sighthound Club (NMK), Norwegian Borzoi & Borzoi-Ringen in Sweden. I have also attended NKK´s Breeders Course.
